Question:

Can someone write a non fiction book in 10 months?

well, around 6 months to a year ? but not continually

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: The actual writing of a work of non-fiction, if you already know everything you are going to say and can quickly organize how you are going to say it, could take as little as a few days (and lots of coffee!). I know that you are asking about non-fiction, but two of my friends who write novels wrote a novel in the Tom Swift series (about 35,000 words, so a short book) over the weekend because the publisher needed the book immediately and another writer had flaked out. Certainly they could have done the same with non-fiction if they were writing about something they knew well.

However, many non-fiction books require a lot of research, and organizing the material that you have researched takes time, too. Many full-time professional writers (fiction or non-fiction) try to keep up a pace of a book a year. So ten months is certainly possible, even for a part-time writer. It's also possible, though, that the book you thought would take ten months will end up taking more time and requiring more revisions than you thought.

Which reminds me that I'm supposed to be working on my book right now instead of answering questions!
