Why is there such a big hype about the Harry Potter books.?

Why is there such a big hype about the Harry Potter books.?

I really don't care between the crappy movies and two years between each book......

How do you guys still care.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Well I started reading them when i was 9 and I really enjoyed them, they get darker as they keep going, people just like having something to rave about.
I think people like them because of the fact that we never truely know that there isn't some type of school like that out there, and the books create such a great image in our heads, personally I like the books a great deal better than the films, they are making sucha big deal over 'the kiss" when in the book harry hated it because it was akward and awful and in the film they make it seen like some masterpeice.
But other than that, they are really great books.
But the films are alright.
Mostly girls like it because of Rupert Grint and Daniel Radcliffe, personally neither one is all that cute, but some people think differently.
