Has anyone heard of this book?

I am trying to find a book I read in high school. It is a story about the main character portrayed in The Phantom of the Opera. (that is not the name of the book, however) The main character's name is Erik and it tells the story of his life from childhood to when he became the phantom and up to his death. Christine ends up having his son in the end.
