Question:

What values should include a philosophy for the 21 century?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: In my view, the two most important values for this century should be patience and poise(balance).

We are in a perennial hurry, always short of time...... as a result we look for quick-fix and peripheral solutions to merely by-pass or appease a problem for the time being, and hence face the same issue later when it crops up again in a greater magnitude and complexity.

A short term and shortsighted approach is causing a major imbalance between what is important and what is urgent...... we keep addressing the urgent and because we never find time to analyze and address the important for longer term benefit, it keeps throwing up more and more short term issues to be addressed immediately.

Our penchant for breadth and quantity is depriving us of the more important depth and quality, so much so that all the coverage in width and quantum turns out to be inadequate and unsatisfactory.
