Question about gridding drawings...?

The picture I'm copying is 7in.x9.5in. and the paper I'm drawing on is 14in.x16in.
How big should the squares be? My art teacher always did it for me and I'm horrible at math I just wanna make sure I get it right. Thanks.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Grid the picture in half inch by half inch squares. Grid the paper in one inch squares. The ratio is close because your picture is 7 inches wide and your paper is TWICE that at 14 inches wide. Your picture is 9.5 inches tall and your paper is 16 inches tall so your picture (if you double THAT) would ideally make your paper 19 inches tall so you'll have to crop your picture somewhat). This is NOT rocket science and you MUST learn to figure this yourself or you will have to find another way to transfer your sketches. Have you ever considered an "Artograph" projector. It does make some distortions but if you can't figure your grids it's better than nothing.
