Question:

What's new about the 17th edition of Business Essentials by Ebert compared to the 16th edition?

One of my courses requires this book and I'm trying to get it for as cheap as possible. Of course the older editions are cheaper, but do they have the same information and chapters? Is there more of something or less of something?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: If it's for a class, you're usually better off getting the recommended edition. I bought a few text books of different editions when I was in college to save some money, and sometimes all that's different is that they add a table or index in the back. Other times, it's a huge difference, they totally revamp the set up, and if the professor says "read chapter 5 by Monday" you end up reading completely the wrong thing.

For specifics, you can look in an edition of whatever book you're looking at and in the first couple pages there will be a foreword or preface saying what was changed from the last edition. I would recommend doing this and if it seems like no big deal, buy the old one. But if it's significant, you're just going to have to bite the cost and buy the new one.
