Were his acting skills bad in Star Wars Episode III?

I thought that he did a great job.

And I want a professional point of view please.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Many people feel he did an awful job. They all have their opinions. I personally think he did reasonably well. Star Wars is done in a particular style which is quite hard to explain. It is something that only G. Lucas really understands.

I think the mark of C.H. Acting is highlighted by his transformation into the Evil Darth Vader. There is something in his stance, eyes and overall appearance that is very hard to fake - that feeling of darkness, anger, fear, lust all combined into a powerful image of evil.

There was a lot of expectation from viewers as to what Anakin/Vader would be like. It just turned out that the original vision was something different.

In terms of what he (and George) was trying to achieve, they succeeded quite well. His acting in the movies was really no better or worse than anyone else. The acting in Star Wars has always been a little ... odd. I think that has more to do with the story telling than the acting.
