Question:

BOOKS and PUBLISHING?

What is the font size typically used in books? What a writer turns into a publisher, is that exactly what gets published or do they edit it. Do the number of pages change? To publish something do you do it in microsoft word or somewhere else? Any help would be really nice.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: 12 point font.
Double spaced.
Page number in top left corner(can be written or typed).
1" margins on both sides of the page.
Times Roman Font.
The publisher will edit the book and then send you a copy to proofread and then they will send it to the cover design. As to the numbers changing it could happen since the book when it is printed is single spaced so the pages might very well change from what you originally had them as when you wrote the book. It's preferred that the manuscript be sent in Microsoft Word.
