Question:

ITHACA... do you get the meaning?

spear some time and tell me your opinion... it's one of my favourite poems! as you may already know, odysseus started a long 10 year journey till he reaches home in ithaca, after many confrontations with gods, monsters.... i didn't write the whole poem cause i was afraid you may get bored and not read it... so, here's the best part...
(which is long too!)

Keep Ithaca always in your mind.
Arriving there is what you're destined for.
But don't hurry the journey at all.
Better if it lasts for years,
so you're old by the time you reach the island,
wealthy with all you've gained on the way,
not expecting Ithaca to make you rich.

Ithaca gave you the marvelous journey.
Without her you wouldn't have set out.
She has nothing left to give you now.
And if you find her poor, Ithaca won't have fooled you.
Wise as you will have become, so full of experience,
you'll have understood by then what these Ithakas mean.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: It's about setting goals and living and learning every minute while you reach that goal. Figuring out who you are and what you are capable of in this world. Without the goal you will have no journey hence no happiness.
