Question:

What helps to break in toe (or pointe) ballet shoes?

I am a beginner toe shoe-ist and I have recently purchased by first pair of shoes. What can you do to break them in so they are a little looser and more comfortable?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: It all depends on how strong your ankles are. You're not supposed to do anything to the actual shoe except for wear them. But the stronger your ankles are and the farther you can go over on your box, the more broken in your shoes will get. Here's an excercise routine I used to do to get my ankles stronger when I first got pointe shoes:
50 eschappes
50 releves on one foot
50 releves on the other
50 sauters (pronounced sotay)

Good luck on pointe!!! Its a lot of fun!!!
