I was wondering what race/nationality (or whatever) my last name sounds. Rollstin.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Despite preconceptions, names don't have nationalities, nor do they have "race" or ethnic connections. For example... you don't even mention what country you live in, so none of us know if we need to look in US, British, German, or... records.
If your grandpa was born in (say) Ireland, he is Irish. Of course, HIS parents might have been born in Poland, so his heritage is based on his ancestors. And as already mentioned, it might have been spelled differently 100 yrs ago... that is common in genealogy.
Finding your background means finding (1) WHO were your ancestors? and (2) where did THEY come from?
