Question:

Is Rowling setting up a core group from Dumbledore's Army as the next Order of the Phoenix?

Ok, I was responding to an earlier question concerning a fake Harry Potter book and it got me to thinking about the DA. We all know that originally the DA was supposed to be something for the students to learn DADA in Harry's fifth year and at the same time basically thumb their noses at Umbridge who wasn't going to teach them anything. It was never really meant as an orginization to fight Voldemort and the Death Eaters with, but seems that that may be what some of the DA are becoming.

I got to looking at the battle at the Ministry of Magic and the one on the night Dumbledore died. In both cases at least six members of the DA take part in both battles, and it's the same six. Harry, Ron, Hermione, Neville, Ginny, and Luna. Rowling seems to have made these six the core members of the DA, and in both battles they end up either being saved by the Order of the Phoenix, or pretty much fighting beside it.

So is it possible she's setting the DA up to be the next OoP?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: i can see it happening. the Order's gotta die sometime, and some already have. but then again if voldemort is defeated once and for all, there wouldnt be a need for a new Order. they might create a new one who's sole job is to watch out for any returns, but it would be virtually useless.
