Position:Home>Arts & Humanities> As an actor in a play, I don't get where my character is coming from & don't

Question:

As an actor in a play, I don't get where my character is coming from & don't even like the wording. Any tips?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Read as much as you can about the play. Get York notes if you can or look online for a character analysis. You will learn not only about your character and their motivation but also about your character's relationship with the other characters.
If you don't like the words, rewrite them the way you would have done it. That'll draw out your organic passion and let you know the thoughts that should be going through you mind. Remember that feeling and put that feeling into the words you don't like.
Also, speak to your director.
