Question:

Does anyone have actual proof for creationism?

I believe in God but i also believe that evolution is fact and not some atheistic liberal plot to end religion....is there any actual proof (besides the Bible which is a book written centuries ago by people explaining God and not science besides i could site a book on evolution as proof because its a book too)....i have heard people say that creation is proved since we all have the same genes as Adam and Eve but i find that odd since one has the physical remains of there parable characters.... and doesn't it seem more likely that God could create the world through evolution..which is far more complex and inventive than the Genesis parable...please nothing like "because God said so" or "my religion says so"

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: The problem with the word 'proof' is that it generally implies that you have evidence so strong that no counter-argument is likely to prevail against it. And since the discussion is still going on, it's fair to say that nobody has indisputable proof of this nature. There is, however, certain lines of evidence that can be used to support creationism instead of evolution.

Take, for example, the 'most recent common ancestor'. Using statistical analysis and factoring in rates of migration, difficulties of geography, and the like we can estimate how recently a person might have lived who was literally an ancestor for every human being who is currently alive. An 'Adam' (or 'Eve') if you will. Some of the most thorough analyses suggest that this might have occurred only 3000 years ago (link 1). Which is rather obviously much closer to a creationist time-scale than an evolutionary one.

Many creationists also suggest that the fossil record supports their views much more strongly than those of evolutionists. For example, there is comparatively little evidence of gradual changes to be found. Instead, whole new things seem to appear all at once. Even evolutionists are forced to suggest that their evidence suggests that thousands of species appeared in the 'Cambrian explosion' in just 5 million years. Which may sound like a long time but is really, REALLY fast in evolutionary theory (link 2). There are likewise many examples of fossils that seem to be in the wrong spots, creatures whose 'geological stratum' suggests they fossilized over millions of years, and even the occasional apparent human footprint that is fossilized right next to a dinosaur.

Aside from all this there are lots of holes to poke in evolutionary theory. But I consider these to be refutations rather than evidence, so I'll just mention that they exist and let you search them out if you're interested.

Personally, I tend to believe in evolution too - it just explains too many other things well. But there IS evidence that evolution has trouble explaining. Most biologists are honest and have no agenda and freely admit this. It just means there's more work to do!

Peace.
