Question:

Suggestions for how to mail art piece/ packaging?

I want to mail a piece of art I drew (flat sheet of paper, normal printer size, no frame, colored pencil)

If I want to prevent the piece from being bent or ruined when being mailed, what type of packaging is suggested?
(ex: in a package with a hard board or rolled up in a tube, etc...)

How do people usually mail their art pieces?

thanks.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Oh, I mailed an oil pastel drawing before.

Take two sheets of really thick cardboard (Fedex box is fine) that's about two inches longer& wider than the drawing, then cut a rectangular hole slightly smaller than the drawing. Take the board with hole on it and put the drawing on it face down. Then secure it with masking tape. Next, tape the other piece of board. (now you should have a "frame" that you can see the drawing when you turn it over.)

Next, take a piece of stiff paper (or thin cardboard) the size of the "frame" and tape it over the frame.

Now you can put it in an envolope and write "ARTWORK DO NOT BEND" on it. The thick cardboard will keep a space on the surface of the drawing and prevent it from bending, while the stiff paper on top will prevent it from being smeared.
