Question:

Do you think most people over look the essence of a philosophical question?

It seems that some people can only take things at face value. I sometimes ask something just to get the mind running out side of the day to day grind. I am also really taken by some of the creative answers out there. The reason I ask this now is due an answer / response from somebody on my question that was to the effect "can we measure the growth rings of spirituality" found this to be "sad". If you don't take this idea at face value, is this SAD?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I agree mate. But, most people have no desire to look up from the grind or beneath the surface of the question, sad to say.

I usually have to force my students to think beyond the surface.
