Question:

Riverdance.?

I'm doing a report on Riverdance (the irish step dancing show) and I need details. So far I have:
-Where (origin)
-When
-Who (companies)
-Shoewear
-Instruments involved
-That it's step dancing mainly involving rapid leg movements and stationary arms.
-It resulted in a large impact on the rest of the world, including what they thought about Irish Dancing.

I need around 5 or 10 other pieces of information to work with. Can anyone help?
Thanks so much!
Sophia.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: You should definitely write about how it diverges from traditional Irish dance. I'm not sure if this is what you meant by "who" but it's gone through several incarnations as it's gotten new stars, which is worth writing about. Aside from the instruments, they've had some pretty famous musicians touring with them, who would be worth spending a little while on, such as Eileen Ivers, the fiddler.

Also, they have featured tap dancers and a flamenco dancer, and possibly some other types of dance, in at least some of their shows (later tours, I think).

I assume you'll be talking about their performance at the '94 Eurovision contest, if not, that's a must!

You could also talk a bit about how it spawned all those other Irish dance shows and where its original stars went and what they did (i.e. creating other shows, etc.) after leaving Riverdance.
