Do we have a right to like and enjoy what makes us happy or do we all need to be

Question:

Do we have a right to like and enjoy what makes us happy or do we all need to be told exactly what to do?

and how to feel about that? If I like one thing and you like another, should I just like what you like and forget what I like and become exactly like you or should you become exactly like me? Are we all suppose to become machines and robots and does anyone really think that will really ever work?
