My mom told me to read books and I was wondering will reading make me smarter, and will reading erase my bad memories?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: It depends on how you define smart. You'll certainly know more, and have thoughts and ideas you''d never have if you didn't read. You'll learn lots of new words, and to other people you'll certainly sound smarter. Not sure about your bad memories, but I've always found reading a great escape from what was bothering me.
