Question:

Is it true that all Ryker's or Riker's are related to each other in the world somehow?

A relative from the Ryker side of my family told me once that is true. My Great,Great etc.... Grandfather Abraham used to own property on what is now known as Riker's Island in NYC he is also buried there.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: No. Neither are all the people named Miller, Armstrong or Rivers. If your surname is one that derives from a specific village, as opposed to an occupation (Miller), a physical description (Armstrong = strong arm), or a general geographical feature (Rivers) there is a chance you are all related.

Ryker is rare enough you are probably related to many of them, though.
