A lot of the people I know are, well, afraid of growing old, so they deny themselves the things that would have otherwise been normal to have by a certain age.

It's hard to give examples becuase everyone is different, but for many of my girlfriends, getting married and having kids is not in the agenda, even though they are in their late 30's. They want to be 20 forever.

Similarly, I know many men and women who rent, don't hold a job or a steady lover because they don't want to take any of those things to the next level.

For many people, a home, and a life as we know it, means restrictions and acceptance of mortality.
