are all those rumors regarding her affairs while being married to Charles, true or were they meant to destroy her reputation as a down to earth gentle pure woman?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I think she was a good person and was a good mother, definately a good humanitarian.

As far as how good a wife she was, I think that depends on how realistically you look at what her marriage was. Like most other royals, Charles and Diana's marriage wasn't the result of a romantic, passionate love most people view as the only kind of good marriage.

She was also not cut out for royalty on the level she married into, in my opinion, and that is not saying anything negative about her. She had the sensibilities of a commoner, and I think in some ways that was her downfall. She didn't fit into the aloof role previous royals had.

However, I think it was because of her that the royals in England began to show a more human, everyman kind of side. I doubt Prince Charles would have been open to the kind of relaxed interviews he's had with Prince William and Prince Harry if she hadn't shown him that the people no longer wanted a completely aloof, inapproachable royal family.
