Help finding my dad??

Question:

Help finding my dad??

Im under 18
have tried the websites but wont let me as i am under 18
All i have is a name
a guess of where he lives [my dad]
and that is it. no birth date or anything.

Nobody seems to want to give me any help or assistance.
Cant look on the eletoral roll as you are not allowed to look specifically at names.
And ive looked in the phone book but the name is not there.
Can anyone help me PLEASE want to find my dad!
IN the UK

I dont know anything except the name and the town ..which is a big place - manchester; and none of my family know
And ive been on 182 and there are over 100 different people by that name.

I contacted the Salvation Army and they dont help illegitimate children .. which would be me.

He doesn't know I exist so how would he be creeped out that I am looking for him?

I can't say that I am 18 because then if someone knows him the dates won't fit to guide them to when he would have been in my area.

And my mum said I can look for him but she won't help me and she want's nothing to do with him. Which is fair enough. And I'm not close to any family members to ask them to research for me.

Hey thanks for the advice but Ive grown up for 17 years without a Dad so Id like one day of seeing who he is.
Ive thought this through, not really had much choice, it's just no one seems to want me to find him.
