Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I agree with the others. The Stand is the best. It's about a lot of things--a virus is let loose on the world, and the story goes from there. In terms of writing, I think the Shining is his second best, and then his story collection The Bachman Books, then another collection, Different Seasons. I know you asked for the best only, but I couldn't help myself.
