Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Both, depending on the outcomes.
When I am well informed and take the time to consider, I usually make the right decision.
When I, for whatever reasons, make the wrong decision, I will try to make the best of it.
This does not mean that I "justify" my boners, but rather that, lacking a time machine, I own my fallibility and work with what I have to work with, hoping to make the best of the situation.
Fortunately, this latter is a situation in which I find myself only rarely.
