Question:

Career in acting?

hi, i was hoping to have a career in acting. im 14 and im goign to be a freshman in high school. i have been in school plays and acting clubs etc. its amazing. i really truely think it will make me happy, but after i get out of high school it will be a rollercoaster ride because i will have competition. does anyone know how i can possibly make it into some movies, and meet some film directors?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: heyy i am in teh sammme situation, and trust me the entertainmet business is verry verry competitive.ok this is what i have done and it has really helped: i know its a really slow process but keep being involved in your musical theater and drama at school, (GIVES You Great Resume Builders), take lessons if your really serious, and then look into agencies. when you have an agent who represents you, you can get more auditions. (submitting your picture online will doo nothing!) I have been in musical theater since i was 9 and also i've been taking singing lessons, and dance, and blah blah i like to performe you know? well about a year ago, I joined a Kids Casting Company. Not exactly an agency but helps you get small jobs like extra work or featuredd parts. its really helped even though its jsut small little things, it really gets you into the business and see if you really like it. I love it personally and am hoping to further my career, (i'm 14) later and yeah so i've been on a few movies and stuff. But ok seriously stay involved in theater, its all bout who u know, like what if someday your theater director becomes a famous producer or director and goes hmm i need a boy, this age, ehh auditions will be too many kids, hey i know! i remember that kid from theater, he was really good! see what i mean its about who u know so if you kep up theater you could get noticed or spotted by agencies and stuf..later when your like really serious and want speaking roles you can join SAG screen actors guild which is like expensive but you are treated nicely, and have some more advantages. hope this helps, just like stay involved, you can always keep improving as an actor! (oh yeah, get a good college major in like drama or filmmaking or something, nyu has a good drama thing i heard)
