Question:

I've been trying to photograph a honey bee on a flower.?

The problem I'm having is that by the time I focus, it has flown off to another flower. I spent almost a half hour moving from flower to flower and never getting a crisp shot. Is there something STICKY I should spray on the plant? Any other ideas would be helpful.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: You seriously want to photograph a honeybee's beauty, but you want to endanger it by making it stick so you can get one crisp shot? Honestly I think that's a tad selfish. What you need to do is find some patience.

Try focusing on the flower at a known distance. Then when the bee lands on a flower, you stand at the distance you were from the focused flower, and quickly adjust (manually) to focus the on the bee, which shouldn't be that far off from the flower. Or you can learn how to focus faster, it can be done. I have many up close macro insect shots. You just need to practice.
