Question:

What should a young artist do to help herself grow as an artist?

I'm a soon to be junior in highschool and i've always wanted to pursue a career in art. I have the brains probably to go into any academic field I want but I never enjoyed any of my other subjects in school. However, since I have potential my parents encourage me to "challenge myself" and I am taking three advanced placement college classes next year along with two honors classes. Since I am probably going to be spending a lot time doing my other academic assignments and will have far less time to practice my drawing, what should I do to help me grow as an artist in the little time I will have to sketch?
Also I'm interested in concept art for movies and stuff so I'd like to develop myself in that direction.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: dont force youself to be creative, but be true to yourself and widen your horizon in any possible way, spend some time for this. donⴴ do anything to be an acclaimed artist. heading for success is the perfect WRONG way. just let the energy flow. und be trustful to this process inside.
