Question:

I'm gonna start ballet classes this fall.. what should I expect?

i'm 5'2'' and i'm 117 lbs, and I'm gonna be a sophomore in the next school year. I have never taken Ballet in my life, but I have taken 5-8 (i lost count) years of Tap. I'm not very stretchy, but I'm working hard on my flexibility! I can grab my foot with both hands, but i cna't touch my face to my knee (yet). I've run through all the posistions and I've used a Ballet Barre before, so i'm kinda familiar with it. When I try holding my leg up high (while keeping it straight), my hip or thigh (or both) muscles start to cramp. The first positition makes my knees feel weird and trying to lift my leg while supporting my weight on a foot that's totally horizontal is.. well.. hard (am I doing it right?? o.o)

I'm going to be in an adult beginner class. What am I to expect? If/when i get good at ballet (in that class, i mean), will they move me to a kids/teens "Ballet II" class? Can you give me a little warning on what I'm about to get myself into? Should I be afraid?? o.o
