i have never read the Poisonwood Bible so i cannot give much opinion on it.
as for Hundred Years of Solitude, it is a great book but i think you'll have to spend more time if you want to write an essay on it, it's kinda deep.
that's why I choose Catch 22, it's confusing but the theme is pretty straightforward.
