Who has seen the play "Hairspray"? I want to know if it's good. What do you guys think of it?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I happen to think it is great. It is definitely in my top five favorite musicals. I've seen it twice and both times I was blown away. It is actually kind of revolutionary. Usually you'll see stories about a black kid wanting to join white kids, not the other way around. I think this movie coming out will be a fairly good adaptation to the Musical. I think that Tracy Turnblad is going to be spectacular and so will the guy who plays Seaweed. Zac Effron will bring a different spin on Link Larkin and they added a new song for him, John Travolta will be fine but totally different than Harry Firestein, but who could be Harry, Queen Latifah ans Motormouth Maybell may be a little young in my opinion and Michelle Pheiffer, well... She just looks like she'll be very boring.

The Play it's self is very funny and will have you wanting to dance and sing along. it's upbeat light and bright but deals with dark issues of our nations past and of everyday teen issues. I'm sure you'll like it.
