Question:

Can anyone who has only lived a sheltered/privileged existence really have anything of substance to say?

I have found that people who haven't suffered or known adversity in their life seem to have no depth upon which to draw upon. Some are good at repeating what they have learned in school or church but when it comes to explaining their own process they are at a loss. They can talk the talk but come up short on adding anything helpful or insightful.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: You get every kind of personality in every category of people. You get the "empty cans", the ones who know the least but yell the loudest; you get people who are profoundly insightful and so quiet you don't know they're there, and then you get every shade in between and inside out.
