Question:

Submitting poems...?

What do you do before you submit poems to be critiqued here, security-wise? Anything to prevent people here on the internet from stealing it and submitting to to a publication under their own name? So far I've only asked about one of my poems on yahoo answers , which was published already. The down side of that though of course is that I can't really change it based on the suggestions I get becuase it's already in a book the way it is.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Ok, well yes you do have to be very careful. My fiance had one of his swiped (not here). Well there isn't much you can do, if people are going to be bums then that's what they'll do. The best I can tell you is to always add

'Copyright [year] [your name]' at the end of each thing you post, each poem that is.

Once you submit a poem bear this in mind. It becomes the property of Y!Answers and you cannot remove a question once its four-day (or extended) time frame is obselete. I found this out the hard way. Well you know, you can always remove your questions before they expire, before four days. And you will still be able to receive a plenty number of answers.

Good luck to you!
