Question:

Is "Johnathan Livingston Seagull" on your summer read list?

In reminiscing of a motorcycle trip that my father and I made twenty years ago, I was thinking about some of the books I read while we camped and just enjoyed 3 months of being on the road. This was the first time I ever read this book. To me it was one of the rare books I actually "loaned" to somebody. It is one of those books you pass on. Most books I keep as "trophies". I think I wil buy it again, read it and pass it on. Richard Bach is the author. If you have read it, please share. from what I remember, it is a classic "crabs in the basket" type story. Inspirational!

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I agree with what you said, one of those pass it on books. I have done that with Illusions, another of his titles I found very inspirational. I have a copy of it out now for me to read.

A few days ago I found a nice hardback copy of Jonathan Livingston Seagull at a thrift store, and decided I needed to keep it for awhile to re-read as well. I need a double dose of inspiration! So yes, it is definitely on my summer reading list! Sounds like you had an experience to remember, and your three months on the road remind me quite a bit of the barnstorming the main character does in Illusions. :) What a treasure!
