Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Dance is my passion because it is what God has put in my heart to do. I can push myself through all the pain and be totally committed because I know how unhappy I would be if I wasn't dancing. It's when I am in the studio sweating buckets, exhausted and knowing I'll be wicked sore the next morning that I can truly feel alive and at peace with myself. All those hours and hours of practice are worth those few minutes on stage. When the lights come on, nothing else matters but performing, making others happy, letting them escape to another world if only for a moment. That is what I live for. As a dancer, you can never be complacent. There is always more to learn and ways to improve. I am a very goal oriented person so I always have a goal in dance to be striving for whether it is a higher extension, consistenly nailing my triple turn or some difficult choreography. Dance also allows me to have a creative outlet which everybody needs. It gives me a place to forget all my other problems or struggles and focus on something productive. My studio has become my home away from home and the people there have become my second family. Dancing wouldn't be half as fun as it is without the amazing teammates and teachers I have. Being one of the oldest girls at my studio, it has put me in the position of being a role model to all the younger kids who see me. This makes me want to work even harder and push myself that much more to show them all that it's cool to be dedicated and responsible and if you are, you will reap the rewards. I love all styles of dance and have dabbled in most all of them, except ballroom. At my studio, I take ballet (both flat and pointe), jazz, lyrical, modern, hiphop, and tap and have taken classes in african other places. I wouldn't call myself amazing in any one particular style, but would say I am proficient at most all of them. I plan on going to college and continuing to dance hopefully getting a double major in dance and in education which would allow me to someday become a dance teacher.
