Question:

I'm new to Poetry section...when submitters of poems put them "out there" are you expecting critique from poet

"experts" or do you just want to know if anyone likes them, or "gets them" ? If you want serious critique do you specify that?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: That's a good question. Poetry is art, and art is subjective, only what the reader or viewer feels about it. There are probably poetry experts, but I'm an oil painter, and when others' see my work, some like or even love it, some don't. The writer or painter has to be a bit thick skinned about comments from the general public. A poet or painter or singer or other artist should be creating for him/herself, not for others. So go ahead, tell the author what you feel, and most of all, enjoy it!
