ok, well I have to draw this for my old teacher's art studio:

Now, I was thinking to use normal pencil to sketch it out. And then 2b pencil to shade... BUT, my question is:

do I need a more rough textured paper to draw this on? Or can I just use normal paper? Someone suggested that I use rougher paper because of the type of shading... which makes sense.. but I wanted more opinions.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I would agree rough paper would be best not only because of the shading, but it also gives this picture a bit more dimension and depth. Also if you use yellowed paper or maybe burn the edges afterwards, it look a bit like parchment, which would follow the theme of the picture.
