Question:

Do you people think there's a purpose to human existence, or of the universe, in general? If yes, what is it?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: No, there's not.

Human beliefs of self-importance, commonly referred to as "ego", makes us aggrandize ourselves in worth to the vast infinite cosmos. Pictures from Earth from outer space shows us how truly insignificant we really are. You can't even see our buildings and structures from the outerspace picture of the Earth much less individual human beings. You just see the great vast blue oceans, white mists of skyclouds, and greenish-tannish spread out landmasses.

We have no predestined purpose or destiny. Our value is only valuable as it relates human to human. On a human scale we are important by nature of definition.

I don't believe this universe itself has any purpose or destiny either. I believe it is just an exercise of two principles fighting for superiority, these being the Order that binds and the Chaos which scatters, and every bit of matter of the universe is a byproduct of this universal tussle.

I believe the universe is a living example of the infinity loop symbol with Order's rule strongest at the center where the lines intersect and Chaos' rule strongest on the ends where the lines flare into those loops.

The Big Bang happened and when Order reigns in Chaos the Big Bust will happen and then the cycle will repeat over and over as the two principles struggle for dominance.

The reason our blood moves through our veins is the scattering movement of Chaos. The reason our blood moves in set pattern remaining consistent in its properties is because of the binding affixing of Order. Humans look similar because of Order. But we have differences because of Chaos.

That duality is what makes everything in the Universe what it is: living to non-living. Outside of a mere struggle for dominance there is no rhyme or reason to any of this. The Universe was founded in conflict and all its properties seem to follow this law.

As a human (like all matter), I am programmed with certain instincts and abilities and have capacity to add on to my knowledge and skills base in my short short life. Ultimately no point to it but it passes the time and pleasures my senses.

I choose to live my life to expand my pleasurable experiences to stimulate these sensors and choose to create a social world that allows others to better find pleasure also. For a world with everyone in pleasure means less of one where everyone would take your pleasure away.

I draw, I play music, I write, I videogame, I read, I learn, I exchange ideas, I comfort, I listen, I gift, I eat, I sleep, I sex, I pass waste, I breathe, I bathe, I assist, I advise, I create, I relax, and many other things I do.

It has no ultimate meaning. It is merely for my here and now. That's how it should be for everybody. We like to believe in stories of as videogames say "extra lives" (afterlife, reincarnation) but there is only one life. The one you're living now. No, it has no meaning to the grand scheme of things but so what? It means something to you as it should. So recognize that and make that life as fulfilling as you want it to be. And if anything exists in this world to prevent your fulfillment of pleasure, eradicate it so that you and others can journey forth on your quest of pleasure.

That's basically it right there. As real, as honest, and as complete an explanation as you're gonna get.
