Question:

If ART is whatever you can get away with...should spectators get away with destroying "art" that they see as..

.....empty of any merit- and foisted on the public by the art/mafia who confuse novelty with quality...or simply see art as an exercise in marketing, and as a way of printing money or kudos?

were you delighted to find out, as i was, that a seventy year old guy pissed in duchamps "fountain"[urinal] some years ago....and do you only wish he had shat in it instead..!

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: If one is the owner of the art they should be able to do what they want with it. In public settings such as museums and galleries this would just be considered vandalism and in poor taste. The aesthetic world is far to large and complex to have one mind determine the quality of existence for work, especially if it is not the creator or owner.

the R.Mutt piece was not permanently disfigured by the pissing, and given the ca-hones on that chap, a shat might have been even more intriguing.
