Question:

Is there anything you would like to believe, but you can't believe?

Many times on Yahoo answers people have suggested we are free to believe what we want to, I do not accept that as a fact.
What would you like to believe, but can't?

Where is the paradox?
Somebody said they would like to believe in fairies, I would also like to believe in fairies, but I can believe in fairies just because I want to, there is no evidence I would need to believe. There is no paradox.

"Our freedom is that we can believe in whatever we think is true." How is that a freedom?
All that means is we can believe what we believe, we cannot choose not to believe in what we believe, our believe change with experience.

"To want to believe something you know is untrue, is to want to be delusional."
I only want to believe what is true, there are somethings which I would like to be true, and so would like to believe.

Confusing knowing with believing.
To believe means to think it is true.
Some people may be able to believe without reason, or because somebody tells them it is true, but offers no evidence. I cannot do that. I don't want to do that, If I could just believe one particular thing, I could believe everything I want to believe.
