The ending of Son of a Witch???

Can Someone explain the ending of Son of a Witch for me i didn't quite get it.i also heard that liir had a child who's da mom? i didn't read the whole thing

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: The baby is Elphaba's grandchild, confirmed by the green skin, and Liir is the father. The mom is Candle, who ran off in order to draw the Guard away from the child and Liir. I think it is written ambiguously on purpose to show that the child is going to grow up as uncertainly as Liir grew up. Liir knows who is mother is, but there is constantly a crack of doubt trying to shatter his belief. It will be the same for his daughter.
