I had sex on Friday. It was a sin. I confessed on Sunday. Monday---I rescind.
Rescind is to cancel that which has come into existence. For example, you can rescind a contract by mutual agreement. In such a case you actually have two contracts. The original, and then the cancellation/rescission agreement/contract. Thereafter, the original contract becomes unenforceable. :))
