Position:Home>General - Arts & Humanities > Tattoos? Anyone know the symbol for independence?

Question:I would like a tattoo down the middle of my back like this one:
http://a136.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/ima...

I don't know what hers means but, I would like one. Not sure what though, different things my friend and I have thought of are:
stubborn
independence
love without reason
wild at heart
determination
envy
wealth
eternal love

Can anyone know any websites for some symbols? Or send some to me?

lol
Or any other suggestions, phrases?
YOUR THOUGHTS WELCOME!!

(I don't have Japanese text installed on this computer)
You can find pictures and translations of lots of Japanese Kanji characters (or symbols) here:
http://japanese.about.com/library/blkoda...
Or just type into Google or Yahoo ''About Japanese Kanji <word>'' to go directly to the word on the site.
Hope I helped ^-^
You're looking for Kanji symbols.
I'm not aware of the Chinese character for "independence", but i'm sure you can find it, and it's probably only one character, and not a long series.

Perhaps you might consider the following, especially if you are going to have as many characters running down your spine as are present in that picture. This is a bit offbeat but worth considering, especially if you are a sensitive individual. And especially if you are sensitive to "energies". I hope you know what i mean :)

On this planet there are a number of "sacred languages": They include Chinese, and its derivatives --Japanese, etc., Sanskrit, Hebrew, Arabic, the Runes, and others. What this means is that the form of the "letters" is actually an antenna which draws in "cosmic energies". Such is not really the case, at least not to as potent a degree in the situation of languages using the Roman alphabet, like english, and other european languages.

My point: You will be placing these antennae on a very sensitive portion of your anatomy, energetically. The spine, at its nonphysical level is a potent conductor of "chi". It is best to take care to NOT interfere with that natural flow.

If one "knows", one can probably actually enhance the flow using proper symbols, etc. This is a complex area, and deserves serious consideration, since tattoos are essentially permanent.

I hope this makes some sense? Best of luck !!
when i saw the picture, i screem no!!!!! please dont do something like that!! it is a chinese writing, and it mean "forever happiness" the writing is not so good. (as i am chinese i know) and the grama look strange.
for a chinese word, it is hard for you to find westerner that can make it perfect,a symbol is a better choice. there are plenty of web that show all diferent kind of tattoo, search "tattooarts"
good luck
