Crab shells?

Crab shells?

I collected a few dried up crab shells, one of them being a horshoe crab shell, and theyr really sandy and some of the sand is dried. The crab shells are a bit fragile and i dont know exactly how to clean them so just the shell will be left. Does anyone have any ideas?
