Art historian with related training. Make a career as a gallery curator or an art educator.
If you want to do a twist on this, combine art history and related courses with courses in another field. For example, art history and journalism — writer on art for newspapers, cultural advertising, exhibit guides, etc.. Or art history, etc. and marketing/small business = work in a commercial gallery, get experience, set up in business for yourself. This is risky, but I know people who have done well in this area over time. Generally, they've had other skills. One successful small gallery owner had previous business experience, knows the framing business and likes to make frames, and works with actioneers to run auctions for various charities.
