What inspired Roy Lichtenstien in his art work?

i need to write about this for my art, and i ahve looked on the internet but i cant seem to faind any thing about what inspired him, and his style of ar aswell! please help thanks!!! :P

He was inspired by the art of advertising and comics-alot of Pop art was a flip on everyday items-look at Andy Warhols Campbell Soup Cans etc. It was a time where alot of artists responded to the commercialism of the times-we were doing quite well as a country and money and buying were on the rise and television was getting strong and so was advertising and it was their comment on the things they saw. That everything can be art-for him it was an interest in printing and the minute process and look of it-very graphic too. Clean colors,hard lines-maybe some influence from japanese art too-look up Pop Art on wikipedia and the net-go from there--
