Question:

When a venue asks what your intent is,?

Ok, this is my first show, hopefully, i am a photographer, and i applied with a venue to show some of my work (not like a museum, but an art venue that serves drinks and food and such, a cool place to hang out) and sent in some of my photos, and they asked me today what my intent with this exhibit is. I am afraid of leaving out info or mis interpretation of the question, so your thoughts would be helpful. please list your source, or your experience with this kind of thing, thank you. :-)

They are asking you what the theme of your show is. Circus clowns? Fire Hydrants? Life at Work? Landscapes? Portraits? Basically let them know what your show is going to be about, let them know how the work is going to be presented (like in identically sized frames) and you should have an artist statement and price list ready for the opening.
