Adhesive for backing home made stickers.?

I was making stickers using printout labels. when I tried to put them on stuff they didn't want to stick. Does anyone know if there is an adhesive that I could put on cloth or paper that cold be backed by wax paper temporarily?

there is special sticker paper that you could use in your printer and it sticks...it's from 3M
