Actually, a good essay doesn't need to say it all - it is superfluous. If you have clearly stated and backed up your points, and the writing is obviously ending, it actually insults the reader implying that he/she is too stupid to realize that you are ending or that you have to repeat your paper's points. It is unnecessary, so write with some authority and leave it out.

Simply restate your thesis, then end with a thought-provoking statement.
