Question:

Colleges for Performing Arts?

What are some excellent colleges to go to is you want to study such things as Performing Arts, Theatre, Music, that type of stuff. I'd love to attend NYU, but it's extremely hard to get into.
Any other colleges?

Also, if you do name a college, could you also tell me the requirements to get into there (or give a link to their website showing requirements)

Well, I'd really like to be a performer (like, Broadway, off Broadway, etc.) I know it's extremely hard to do, but what should a major in if I'd want to do that?

I think it all begins on: which region of the country (or the world) do you want to live in? This might seem like a silly question, but its amazing how going to school in an area where the whether stinks can affect you enjoying the school. You can go to Julliard, but hate the winter??and might now get the full experience of what you??re looking for – even in the Performing Arts department. Also, make sure that you??re not over extending yourself in your goals. You want to look at schools that are reachable and might be a slight challenge to get into. Now, that??s just a brief overview on colleges. So here??s the good stuff: I??m looking for some schools that specialize, or who are pretty notorious, for Performing Arts too. Here are some of the schools I looked at: Emerson University (Massachusetts) Wesleyan University (CT) Ithaca College (NY) Sarah Lawrence University (NY) Syracuse University (NY) and Nazareth College (NY)??.etc. But remember, these are colleges that I find interesting. You might have opposite opinions.

Here??s a site that I found that might be useful: http://www.petersons.com/ugchannel/code/...

Also, talk to your school guidance councilor when you feel like you need some insight.
